Factors Associated with Moral Distress and Caring Behavior of Nurses Working in Emergency Departments of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences During COVID-19 Pandemic

Introduction: Moral distress is one of the prevalent problems nursing which causes stress, that leads to nurses being unable show a proper moral function in critical situations. Moreover, due stressful conditions emergency department, caring behaviors great importance. This study aimed determine factors associated with and working departments educational-medical centers Mazandaran University Medical Sciences during COVID-19 pandemic. Methodology: was descriptive-analytical conducted through stratified convenience sampling, by participation 188 5 2020. Data collected standard three-section questionnaire demographic information, Corley Wolf nurses, its validity reliability confirmed. analyzed using descriptive (mean deviation, frequency percentage) analytical statistics (Mann–Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis, Spearman correlation coefficient). Finding: mean score 20/97±101/60 they had 92/4% average distress. Caring behavior 8/62±101/60. Gender marital status variables significant relation behavior, way male married lower (p<0.05). between NOT statistically significant. Final conclusion: Nursing staff must have good command their so will be presented high quality, patients help-seekers’ satisfaction who come emergency, especially pandemic, met.
